Tasha R. Hauff of Zintka Education Services is a researcher, teacher, and language activist enrolled in the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe in South Dakota.
She earned a Ph.D. in Ethnic Studies at the University of California, Berkeley and has served as a post-doctoral research fellow in UCLA’s Graduate School of Education and Information Science.
As an instructor at Sitting Bull College Tasha co-designed the Native American Bachelor's Degree, which was approved by the Higher Learning Commission in 2017 and directed the Lakota Language Capacity Building Initiative, which increased community skills in classroom language acquisition and developed proficiency in six community adults.
AS assistant Professor of Lakota at South Dakota State University, Tasha helped grow the Dakota/Lakota language program to include 300 level coursework and more than 80 students in 2023.
Through Zintka Educaiton Services, Tasha now serves tribes and schools directly to improve K-12 and adult education in the areas of Indigenous language and culture.
